Copyright & DMCA Policy

We respect the intellectual property of others and expect our users to do the same.

Last updated:

This policy explains how Karibu Online handles copyright complaints about the Save Status Android app (the “App”) and the website SaveStatus.com (the “Site”). It follows the notice-and-takedown process of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we apply the same process to complaints from any country.

What we host, and what we don’t

  • The App does not host or distribute content. It only shows status files that WhatsApp has already stored on a user’s own phone, and copies them locally on that phone. We have no copy of these files and no ability to remove them from users’ devices. If someone re-posted your content elsewhere, please contact the platform where it was posted.
  • We do control the articles, images and other material on the Site, and the App’s own code, graphics and store listing. Notices about these are handled below.

How to file a copyright notice

If you believe material on the Site, in the App itself or in our store listing infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (details below) that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is acceptable);
  2. identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
  3. identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as the exact URL on SaveStatus.com or a description of where it appears in the App;
  4. your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
  6. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

Incomplete notices may delay our response. We review valid notices promptly and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material and let the person who supplied it know.

Counter-notices

If material you provided was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal;
  3. a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, address and telephone number; and
  5. a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We will remove contributors, such as guest writers or editors, who repeatedly infringe others’ copyrights, in appropriate circumstances.

Misrepresentation

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, please consult a lawyer first.
